Description
The Role: Working in an extraordinary hybrid team of
Scopists and Editors, you will strive to craft transcripts of corporate
earnings calls, company conference presentations, shareholder meetings,
merger/acquisition announcements and investor days that meets or exceeds our
quality and timeliness benchmarks.
The Location: This position is based in Islamabad,
Pakistan.
The Team: You are going to be working with a team that
transcribes financial-related conference calls and assist in gathering business
information and deliver real-time essential data to clients. You'll be joining
a dynamic team of 250+ counterparts in global locations with countless
opportunities to learn transferable skills & knowledge.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of this role
essentially lies in building publication-quality transcripts with high speed,
multi-speakers and calls involving specialized terminology. In addition to
transcriptions, the team will assist in the collection of other Business
Information – private company profiles.
Each role is dependent on the other and should be
coordinated precisely with the other team members in production of output
You might be required to perform in either the
role of a Scopist or Editor using real-time automated speech recognition
technology and computer-aided transcription software to produce final output
within set guidelines
You may be asked to proof and/or edit work
performed by other Editors or Scopists in order to meet quality control
guidelines
You will be collaborating with peers and Team
Leaders to continuously improve the Transcriptions workflow process
You shall be gathering relevant business
information as required by S&P Global
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
A ‘Touch-typist’ with typing speed of 50 words per
minute and above (please check your typing speed at www.typingtest.com and
mention in your application/resume)
Excellent writing and listening skills in English
Excellent hand-eye and auditory coordination along
with the ability to multitask
Ability to concentrate, focus and deliver
consistently in time in an energizing environment
At least a Bachelor's/College Degree is preferable
(no studies in progress)
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience of working in a Transcriptions
team is preferable
Familiarity with financial markets and business
organizational vocabulary is an asset
General knowledge/know-how of current affairs will
definitely help in editing transcripts with context, leading to greater
accuracy and precision
Work Shift: Primarily a morning shift job, however you
will be expected to work in either the evening or evening shift depending on
business requirements.

Organizational Context
and Scope:-
Established in 1951,
and operational in Pakistan since 1981, the International Organization for
Migration (IOM) is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of
migration and works closely with governmental, inter-governmental and
non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly
migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice
to governments and migrants.
Over the years, IOM
has expanded and affirmed its role as the leading Organization assisting the
Government of Pakistan to ensure humane and orderly movement of people by
devising practical solutions to shifting dynamics of migration, protecting,
assisting and supporting vulnerable migrant populations, promoting international
cooperation on migration issues and serving as a key source of advice on
migration policy, research, data and practice Pakistan remains the
third-largest refugee-hosting country globally, hosting Afghan refugees holding
Proof of Registration (PoR) cards, Afghan Citizenship Card (ACC) holders and
undocumented Afghan migrants.
IOM supports the
Government of Pakistan in the implementation of cross-border programming
supporting Afghan migrants and refugees which aims to contribute towards
promoting peaceful co-existence with host communities. In view of present
government policy, and in line with the strategic approaches adopted by the
Afghanistan Situation Regional Refugee Response Plan (2022) and IOM ’s
Comprehensive Action Plan for Afghanistan and Neighbouring Countries
(2021-2024). IOM Pakistan will support the most vulnerable communities hosting
Afghan migrants and refugees to address humanitarian needs and reduce
protection risks for people on the move, in parallel to anticipatory action to
mitigate the crisis impact, save lives and livelihoods, and enable societies to
transition and recover towards sustainable development.
Under the overall
supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of Emergency
Coordinator/Senior Programme Coordinator (Emergency and Post-Crisis) the
successful candidate will support the programme set-up and coordinate the
implementation of all Communicating with Communities (CwC), Risk community and
Community Engagement (RCCE) and Accountability to Affected Population (AAP)
programme activities within the Humanitarian, Recovery and Resilience Unit. IOM
aims to ensure that AAP, CWC and RCCE activities are complementary,
mainstreamed and linked to IOM’s response and recovery activities, including
emergency health, livelihood, protection, migration, CBI and direct assistance
and displacement tacking matrix.
Responsibilities and
Accountabilities:-
AAP
- Identify new opportunities
consistent with the IOM AAP strategy in Pakistan and recommend
programmatic improvements, and participate in the development, adaptation,
and application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including
sensitization messages, templates, and tools.
- Provide support to Humanitarian
Recovery and Resilience Unit’s teams to ensure AAP is mainstreamed into
all relevant project documents and unit’s activities, as well as providing
technical support to the field teams on AAP in coordination with the
area-based coordinators.
- Support developing a consistent
CFM referring mechanism and ensure directing community and/or
beneficiaries’ feedback to relevant teams or managers to be resolved and
follow up the closing the feedback loop.
- Work closely with the M&E
officer, reporting officer, and other relevant teams in mainstreaming and
integrating AAP component when developing proposals, strategies, tools,
and post-activities monitoring mechanisms, and provide updates and
suggestions for improvement taking into consideration the available
resources.
- Support the M&E officer and
reporting officer, and other relevant teams through providing updates
related to AAP and formulate and present technical and substantive inputs
in accordance with the required format for reporting.
- Support, when needed, the
recruitment, monitoring, supervision of the Project and Technical Officers
(CwC/AAP) and their concerned programming.
CwC/Social cohesion
- Work closely with the leads of
the Humanitarian, Resilience and Recovery Unit on developing communication
with communities, and social cohesion strategies, with special attention
to communities hosting large number of refugees/migrants
- Support the implementation of
the operational activities of CwC and social cohesion, across the HRR
Unit, including overseeing activities carried out by implementing partners
in the field when applicable.
- Coordinate with the Unit teams
to integrate relevant CwC and social cohesion elements into the various
activities and processes, and support tailoring content to target the
specific audience.
- Contribute to the establishing
and maintaining of communication with community mechanisms and tools, and
identifying community leaders and social groups, and other relevant
stakeholders, and recommend implementation strategies that are inclusive,
participatory and promote local ownership.
- Mobilize community coordination
mechanisms and initiatives to promptly address and identify transition and
recovery objectives and livelihood initiatives through organizing
community-based needs assessments.
- Support the PI officer in
developing and monitoring community outreach materials, campaigns, and
sensitization activities related to the Humanitarian Recovery and
Resilience unit objectives and activities
- Support the PM and the
area-based coordinators in organizing community-based social cohesion
events and educational and recreational activities to promote social
cohesion, such as community awareness sessions and community mobilization
activities
- In coordination with the
reporting officer and other relevant teams, provide updates and summaries,
and other relevant materials as might be needed, related to the CwC and
Social Cohesion activities
- Work closely with the
communities to enhance mutual understanding between different IOM targeted
community groups including, inter alia, refugees and host communities and
facilitate opportunities for engagement and dialogue.
- Undertake duty field travels
related to CwC and social cohesion activities and liaison with
counterparts, as required.
- Any other duties assigned.
Required
Qualifications and Experience:-
- Master’s degree in Development
Studies, Community Development, Social Sciences or a related field from an
accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional
experience; or
- University degree in the above
fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience with international
organizations namely the United Nations (UN), in development,
implementation and evaluation, and/or programme implementation and
management;
- Minimum four years of
experience working in community engagement, CWC, AAP, RCCE, community
development projects or working with community mobilization activities
essential;
- Experience working in a
communications role and development of communications materials.
